The Last 3 Months

Jaxon is now three months old! The last three months have been a roller coaster, but a really fun one! You know the kind that have really crazy and scary parts and you want to cry, but after it all you loved it and want to do it again? Its been that kind of roller coaster. When we brought Jaxon home from the hospital I had a few melt downs because I felt an overwhelming responsibility for this little, now 5lb, human being. I have nannied for a good amount of years and so I felt really comfortable in taking care of a baby, but this time I couldn't give him back to his parents! When Jaxon cried one night ALL night long, I thought I was going to die of sleep deprivation and stress, but things got increasingly better. He finally learned how to eat and he was a lot happier, and now he's a lot chubbier too! He's almost 15 lbs. He's come a long way! Jaxon started smiling at anyone that would look at him at 5 weeks old! It definitely wasn't gas, he's just a smiley guy. He also started giving speeches and telling long stories that would last about 10 minutes at about 6-7 weeks. He was such a chatter box! Not as much now, but I have got him to laugh a few times! The day before he turned three months, he rolled over a few times and has done a couple times since, so that's exciting news. And he is absolutely obsessed with his little monkey, Melvin. We went to California without Terryl a few weeks back and when Jaxon and Daddy were reunited, Terryl gave Melvin to Jaxon as a present! He snuggles with Melvin all the time and loves to sleep with him. On February 2nd, Jaxon was blessed! Terryl gave a beautiful baby blessing and thanks to Terryl's Aunt Cindy, Mom and Brittany we have it written down! It was such a special day with friends and family. Baby Jaxon has been the best thing that has ever happened to Terryl and I and I don't know what life would be like without his special spirit in our home. On February 17, Terryl and I got to go to the Imagine Dragons concert! It was sooo much fun. We haven't had a night out like that in awhile and we had such a good time. On the other hand, we left Jaxon with my parents and....it was a disaster! I had given him a bottle before that night so I thought he would take one but we discovered he doesnt like bottles anymore....but I have the best parents! They took care of him and tried everything to keep him happy and eventually he ate a little bit and went to sleep for the rest of the time they had him. Such a fun night and concert, and i'm thankful for my parents! During the last 8-9 months Terryl has been focusing really hard on building up his videography business. Day in and day out he has been working so hard and it's starting to pay off! He loves what he does and he's doing a great job at making his business a success. He's been working on building a studio since about August and its almost completed! They hope to have an open house in the next few weeks. It's been hard at times not having him home much, but I know he's working hard for our family. Yesterday he had the morning off and we were able to go to Lehi Days! Lehi Days is a really fun rodeo that we go to every year and it's put on by my parents stake. My niece and nephew did some sheep riding and goat dressing! Pretty funny stuff to watch. We took Nixon, Terryl's brother's little boy, and he loved it! He said the best part was playing in the rain. Right as we were leaving it started to rain and we had a long walk to the car. Terryl said, "why don't you wait up against the church wall, underneath the roof and I'll go get the car." So Nixon, Jaxon and I stayed there until it started to down pore.....We were standing in dirt and it turned into deep muddy water in a matter of seconds. We decided we had to move but there was no where to go! We ended up running out in the rain and found a tree to stand under until Terryl got us about a minute or two later. We were all soaked by time we got in the car. Jaxon slept through the whole thing! Nixon had the perfect rain boots on and Terryl told Nixon, "Well good thing you have your rain boots on!" Nixon said, "not my rain boots, my black ones." Little kids say the darndest things. So, I finally decided I need to get back into shape. It's been a long time since I have been fit and....I need to do something about it! So I started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD and its pretty difficult! Terryl did it with me and said it wasn't a very good work out, but on day 2 he was huffing and puffing! I think he's just too macho to say its a good one :) All of my siblings decided to sign up for the Foam Glow 5k in May! I did the Pat Tillman race a few years ago and it was a lot of fun so I'm really excited for this one. We are all training for that using the Couch to 5k program. I love it! We'll see how good I look in a few months :) haha.  Today we were able to attend the Gilbert Temple Dedication and it was absolutely amazing. I kept on thinking how exciting it is that Thomas S. Monson was only a few miles from where I was! Funny thought I know, but you usually only see him at conference and in church magazines so it's special to be a part of something with him, that is so close to home! I am so excited for the new Gilbert Temple and the opportunity I have to go inside. I know the gospel is true and I will never believe that it isn't. I have had so many different things happen in my life that have testified of the principles of the Gospel and I would never be able to deny that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. I'm so thankful for that! It's such a blessing to have Jesus Christ to rely on when you don't have anyone else. Anyway....what can I say? I love my life!
